I woke up early this morning, 6:18am and decided to get up. After letting my dogs out I noticed Jupiter in Scorpius and I thought, Nova Scorpii 2007. I could not make it out with my naked eye so I looked at it with my 10x50 binoculars. I estimate it at Mag 5.0. Initially I got confused trying to find it, this was the first time I've seen a new star, so to speak, since it does not appear on the star chart I was using, hence the initial confusion. After checking with Sky and Telescope's online star chart I confirmed I was looking at it.
