April 27th 2007, 3:00pm In the backyard in Lubbock.

Today I received the Coronado Cemax 18mm and the 2x Barlow that I had ordered and proceeded to check the 18mm Cemax out against my 20mm Televue Plossl. I was now using a camera tripod instead of the EQ-2. Obviously there is a slight magnification difference between the two eyepieces; the Televue yields 20x and the Cemax 22.2x. The Sun's surface details are a little easier to see with the Cemax and the details around a sunspot were also easier to see. The prominences looked about the same.

9:30pm went out with the ST120 to look at the waxing gibbous moon, not very impressive, looked at a few stars with the V-block, still impressed with that filter.
