Monster Boa Size of Two Buses Reported by Terrified Village

REUTERS world wire is reporting that a 130-foot long serpent with a diameter of about 15 feet may have terrorized a village deep in Peru's Amazon jungle on Tuesday. Shortwave radio from the region is relaying a similar report. "It was black, very black," Luis Iluma, who was playing soccer in the village at the time of the sighting, tells REUTERS. He claims to have seen a black boa constrictor the size of two passenger buses slither by him. According to witnesses in the Nuevo Tacna village, the monster "crashed through the jungle undergrowth, felling trees and forging a ditch wide enough to drive a tractor through." "The villagers and fishermen are terrified," a local mayor told REUTERS by telephone. "There were five witnesses present and the rest of the 300 villagers felt the effect of this thing as it dragged itself along and dived into the river Napo."

National radio networks in Peru are reporting the sighting with humor, suggesting the foolish locals mistakenly identified heavy construction machinery as a monster.

But local authorities have been quick to point out that the dense jungle forest did not allow access to such large equipment...
