Annual Boat Spring Maintenance Check List

o    Check lights and that all wiring harness is secure
o    Check wheel bearings for smooth running and side play
o    Check brake linings (done thru inspection port on front of drum)
o    Check surge brakes (spin tires and test actuator – check fluid level, if low discover why) Note: use synthetic DOT 5 fluid only
o    Lubricate winch
o    Check tires (for proper pressure and ageing cracking) including two spares
o    Check spare tire mounting bracket (lubricate lock)
o    Lubricate dolly wheel
o    Check license plate registration
o    Lubricate surge brake actuator (grease the slide)
o    Inspect trailer for rust or any bent members

o    Change oil (Castrol 10w30 GTX )
o    Check bottom end lube (replace bottom end grease every even year)
o    Change spark plugs
o    Grease turning spindle
o    Empty old fuel and inspect gas tank and hoses for any leaks while pressuring up the bulb
o    Test run ensuring proper water tell tale discharge
o    Test the manual start rope

o    Wash
o    Repair any hull imperfections
o    Wax
o    Check date on parks sticker
o    Check lights
o    Check batteries (fill with distilled water, clean and charge, replace if the battery fails to charge properly)
o    Check Y valve and lubricate if stiff
o    Check seacock and lubricate if stiff
o    Flush and fill water tanks
o    Test bilge pump (should empty bailing bucket in 6-8 strokes)
o    Oil interior teak
o    Check standing rigging
o    Check running rigging
o    Clean interior of boat
o    Check electronics including a test of the vhf (if possible check the SWR)
o    Test head and macerator pump
o    Test sink / lav pumps
o    Test blaster pump
o    Clean and lubricate sheet winches (every odd year)
o    Inspect steering system (ensure that spare steering cables are onboard)
o    Inspect rudder including the pintles, gudgeons and retract bungee
o    Clean and lubricate the mast slide
o    Check and replace if deteriorating the bungee cords on the
o    Clean and organize all lockers
o    Check and replace rigging tape on
o    Check roller furler
o    Check all safety equipment
