Rain Gutter Caution

The C250 has rain gutters on both its forward and companionway  hatches.  Unfortunately the two drain in opposite directions.  This means the boat left on the trailer must be fairly level fore and aft or water will enter the boat.  I've found that from level to 1 (one) degree up at the bow works well.  The alternative is to use a full hatch canvas cover on the companionway and leave the bow down slightly.  The forward hatch gutter drains into the anchor locker and out the drain tube...be sure it is not plugged by debri from the anchor or small leaves etc.

Though I use a companionway cover, I'm still deliberate about leveling the boat.  I use a construction protractor  with a magnetic base and set it on the trailer tongue near the trailer jack.   This one was bought at a home supply center.  Its quite accurate and easy to see 1 degree of adjustment.
