The design goals are:
- For use with a Bruce Clone
- To be easily removed so that it won't prevent
trailering with the mast raising equipped trailers
- To allow near beam rode movement without chaffing the
rode
- The roller would be for stowage, lowering and
raising of the anchor but not for cleating the rode thru the roller
- Inexpensive, perhaps a simple roller embedding within
a veneered hardwood forestep
- To have positive,
fail safe capture of the anchor while sailing
