Self Storing Sail Ties

The c250 lends itself very nicely to self storing sail ties.   Needed are :
  1. two cheek blocks
  2. one eye strap
  3. two hammock hooks
  4. length of bungee
  5. stainless hog rings
  6. stainless rivets
Mount the cheek blocks fore and aft on the port side of boom with the beckets toward each other.  Install the eye strap half way between and the hammock hooks half way between these points.  The bungee will now pull over the sail and cleat twice making four crossings.  Using the cheek blocks and routing the bungee three runs (from becket to becket going around each block)... there is adequate stretch to ensure that it has both the needed slack and the holding power to secure the sail well, yet when not in use... it retracts firmly to the boom.  

The self storing sail ties also make securing / unsecuring the sail fast and easy and allow communicating with the rest of the crew rather than grunting with conventional ties clenched in teeth.
