Cabin Table and Ice Box

Note: this mod has been scrapped in lieu of a nicer cabin/cockpit table and storage unit under the table.  I will leave the mod here simply to show the possible uses of the area.
One of the problems I encountered with the c250 for my use was that the cabin table was too large.  Also when cruising, the stock ice chest was inadequate.
An Igloo Ultra Cold solved the problem with keeping ice but its harder to access.  What was needed was a simpler to access ice chest for daysailing which would serve as an extra cruising chest for drinks.

After a lot of thought, I felt my answer was to place it below a cabin table top which needed to be larger and higher than the coffee table but smaller than the stock table.

The 22 qrt Igloo cooler works very well and places the table top at ideal height.  The table top is screwed to the lid of the chest.

The chest can be removed from the lower box which is screwed to the coffee table.  The additions do not interfere with the drink cups at the forward end of the coffee table.

The mounting box is made of 1/8" plywood which fastens to a 1/2" base.  45 degree angle stock make the interior corners which are glued and stapled and don't interfere with the ice chest because if its large radius corners.  There is a cut out to allow for the drain spicket so that the chest can be removed from the mounting box.
