Vang Mods

I've made two mods to the vang.  The first is to solve a problem with the difficulty of releasing the vang.  In the stock configuration, its very difficult to slap the line from the cleat. The problem is cam angle which can be relocated by cutting a portion from the cam mount and drilling some new mounting holes.  Unfortunately, this was a one time shot and I went slightly too far which requires raising the line slightly to cleat... though this is far less a problem than previous.

Vang Block Mod
The other mod was to change the vang from 4:1 to 8:1 purchase.  That done by using a wire block and a length of wire line to double the 4:1 vang.  This aids vang sheeting and eliminates any serious need for a traveler on the mainsheet.  As with most other boats this size, a snap shackle on the vang allows it to be easily moved to the rail (stanchion eye for baby stay) for use as a preventer and the wire block and line do not interfere with doing this.
