50th Reunion
Events, Photos & Attendees
|
Summary
| The Baraboo High School Class of 1957 held
its 50 year reunion on Saturday, September 22, 2007, with Lois and Roy
Luther providing a lovely farm setting on a beautiful, sunny
day. The Luthers arranged hayrides for all and
dancing and entertainment in the barn with the fabulous Swing
Crew. Roy's relatives and particularly his sisters,
Irene and Carol, made this a memorable event with their hard work and
fantastic decorating ideas. The Class of '57 had
151 graduating members and has sadly suffered the loss of 28
classmates. This reunion was attended by 74 classmates with a
total attendance of 130, coming from Wisconsin, Maine, California,
Arkansas, Michigan, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado,
Illinois, Florida, New Mexico and Arizona. Special
guests included two of our teachers, Cole Felmlee and Richard
Bates. A Researcher from the University of
Wisconsin presented information regarding the ongoing 50 year study it
has conducted of 1957 Wisconsin high school graduates, which includes a
number of our classmates. Details of this study can
be viewed online (Google: Wisconsin Longitudinal
Study). A Friday gathering was held at Bonzo's and
Sunday brunch was enjoyed at The Farm Kitchen. The Class of
'57 was pleased to present a class gift of $7,000.00 to the Baraboo
Public Library.
