Bert Tolley longtime member of the local country music scene, bass player in The Country Fever Band , known to so many people around the area with his voice and presence on and off stage, passed away on July 28th, He will be missed. He always said he wanted to enjoy life to the fullest, so, we are putting on a memorial jam and celebration of life on Sunday Sept. 28, 2008 at The Moose Lodge in Eureka starting at 2pm . We would like all of Berts friends, dancers and any bands or single musicians to contact us if you would like to join in. We are in the planning stage for Bert's party right now so please contact us as soon as possible.

09/29/08 - Many thanks for all of the help and all of the people who came to help celebrate the life of Bert Tolley, Thank you Linda for all of the decorations and help, Dawnita for all the help, The Strictly Country band, The Roadmasters and all of the musicians who performed, it was a great way to say good by to a great Humboldt County legion, for all who couldn't make it we have retired the Country Fever name, never to be used by any of the members who played at the party, when we talked about getting another band together we decided that Bert was the heart and sole of the CFB and without him the name could never mean the same as when he thumped that P bass and pumped life into every performance, but i'm sure you'll see us somewhere playing in the future.

Again, thanks for everyone's presents and help, and Thanks to all the loyal fans of the Country Fever Band, it has been so much fun making people dance and smile.

09/17/08 - I am starting to hear from more bands and musicians, looks like there will be a number of talents showing up, we have someone that has volunteered to run sound and everything is coming together quite nicely. I want to thank all who will be coming for their support, Bert would be proud of the reaction of people and bands that are going to celebrate his life. I just hope we have as much fun as he would have had if he were here! Again thanks to everyone, and lets make this a jam to remember.

09/12/08 - Were moving right along with Berts party, we have received some donations and we thank you who have giving very much, I have talked to several musicians and it looks like we should have nice bunch to celebrate with, we also have talked to allot of people and it looks like we should have quite a few coming from all over, Bert had so many friends out there after all of the years of being on stage and giving so much pleasure to so many.

09/08/08 - Things are going well, but we still need to hear from any musicians who would like to play. so please call or Email me so we know who's going to be on stage. We have received a few donations, mostly people who want to help, and I thank you very much for your help of any kind. Also trying to get in touch with old Country Fever listeners, dancers, and musicians that used to play in the band. if you know any of these people please let them know about our plans, Let everyone know. 08/31/08 - Just a quick note, I still need to hear from bands and musicians that want to play at the party so we can get an idea of how to setup for the music portion, I have heard from a lot of people from all over the country who wish to come and enjoy themselves as Burt would want us to do, so lets entertain them with some great local music, please call me or email me and we'll put on a party to remember!

Also looking for someone to run the sound system, if you or someone you know can help contact me.

8/23/08 - Thanks again for all the kind donations we have received so far, any help is always appreciated, the party is going great , I've been telling everyone I see to bring a potluck dish, finger foods would be the best I think, this should be a whole lot of fun. we have heard from a few bands and are waiting to hear from more bands or musicians that would like to play at the party, Please contact me at rvm@suddenlink.net and let me know if you would like to attend so we can put together a list of about how many bands, musicians, and people are planning to attend.
