In the Name of God Amen, I William Smith of Hertford County in North Carolina, Being Weak in Body, But in Perfect
mind and memory, Do make and appoint this my Last Will and Testament,
- First I Commend my soul to God,
- Secondly I Commit my Body to the Earth to be Buried by my Executors Hereafter Named; and as for my Wordly Goods
I Give as followeth.   
Imprimis I Give and Bequeath unto my son Thomas Smith my maner Plantation with all the Land I die Possessed of,
_ say I Give and bequeath my said Plantation and Land to my said son Thomas and to his heirs forever.   
Itam. I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Abigal one cow and calf, and it is my Desire and true Intent and Meaning that
all my Stock of Cattle Beside by Equally Divided Between my Daughter Abigal, and Tamar, and son Ephraim and Thomas,
and Daughter Rebeca, and it is my Desire, and true Intent and meaning, that all my Estate not Given in Legacies be Equally
Divided, Between all my Eleven children, Both sons and Daughters, But it is my Desire that my wife Sarah Smith shall
not be Disturbed in the free use of all my Estate during her Natural Life or Widowhood.
And I do apoint my son James Smith and my Loving wife Sarah Smith my hole and soul Executors of this my Last Will and
Testament; Thus in the Presence of God, and these my Evidences, I do Nominate and apoint this my Last Will and Testament.

The Before Written Will was Exhibited into Court by Sarah Exx. and James Smith Exor thereof; and Proved by the oath of John Smith
one of the subscribing Witnesses thereto; and then the said Will was ordered to be Recorded At the same time the said
Exx. and Exor was duly Quallifyed for that office, and Prayed an order for Letters Testamentary thereon which was Granted.
