Jan Box

Our quilting teacher, Jan Box, is from Orick, CA where she works as a liason between the school and community.  Her involvement in both quilting and work with the school led here to start a kids quilt group with a goal:  90 quilts a year for the children in Oakland Children’s hospital.  These quilts are made by the Orick quilt group, Orick School students, and the BLCC  quilt group.  They are delivered at Christmas time to those children in the hospital.

Jan Box is our teacher.  We meet on Thursday at noon and have lunch.  When lunch is over, we quilt until 2:30, 3:00, or sometimes later!  We help Jan with the Orick Quilt Show, make quilts for the Oakland Children’s Hospital, blankets for Mad River Hospitals ,Birthing Center, and -, sponsor the Quilt-A-Rama and Christmas Boutique.  Funds from the quilting boutique help defray costs for the quilting supplies.  Also, this year we are joined by Relay for Life Team #5.  Come Check us out.  No experience required.  Materials available for your use!
