"The Garden"
This beautiful of painting of Jesus Praying in Gethsemane was
painted by Brother Robert Utterback in 1964. It is painted in
memory of Grover and. Etta chandler, and was commissioned by
their family.
This painting hung on one of the front walls of the Henderson
Street Church sanctuary from 1964 until 1973 till now it has
hung in the vestibule of the church.
This painting remind us of the great travail of Jesus as he
prayed for His people in Gethsemane. You can see in the distant
background the lights of soldiers coming to take Jesus away for
trial and crucifixion. In the background closer up you can see the
Apostles sleeping.
