A Loaf of Bread is a collection of writings compiled
over the last 26 years or so. Many of them have been extensively
edited during this time as I gained a better understanding of
matters of faith. It has been a joy to write down the thoughts and
nuggets of wisdom the Lord has shared with my wife and me. Our Lord
is my inspiration for this effort. If no one else benefits from
this presentation of these truths to the public, I have still been
greatly blessed by the effort. It is, of course, my hope that
others will find nourishment for their Christian walk with Jesus.
The Internet is a wonderful tool to help us reach areas of our
world that have heard little of our wonderful gospel.
Two of the writings, The Israel of God and Flee
into Galilee, have multiple parts. I hope you are able to
navigate both writings without difficulty.
The inspiration and knowledge for this effort came over a period
of many years. The editing process is humbling as I realize how
much I am still "in process." This pilgrim has not yet finished
this wonderful journey but I started the trip some time ago. As I
near my 70th birthday, I look forward journey yet ahead, knowing
the best is yet to come.
Enjoy the writings! If you have any comments or questions, I
would love to hear from you.
About the Author

I am a native Texan currently enjoying the beautiful piney woods
of East Texas near the historical city of Nacogdoches. I have been
married to a most precious lady for 43 years. We are blessed with
two wonderful children and two grandchildren.
Upon graduation from Rice University, I served in the Navy for
three years during the height of the cold war. A friend of mine
aboard the USS Ranger, Wilbur O'Donovan, was kind enough to share
the truth of the gospel and helped me know in my heart that Jesus
is the Truth. At the end of his time in the Navy, O'Donovan went to
Africa as a missionary and worked there for many years.
After my stint in the service, I went to work as a chemical
process design engineer. Later, I was in marketing within the
chemical industry. As happens in life, through a series of events,
I shifted direction and taught mathematics at one of our state
universities, SFASU, for a number of years. I am now retired but
still teach some online classes. I also do a little consulting.
In the rustic area where I now live, I enjoy watching the
raccoons, squirrels, o'possums, birds and other wildlife. I also
enjoy an occasional trip to the beach to get the sand between my
toes. In brief, I take pleasure in the wonderful life God has given
us.
Acknowledgement
I have to admit that I enjoyed the challenge designing this site
myself. Perhaps with time, I will pep it up a little. I found the
software, Amaya 9.54, to be very helpful in doing what I wanted to
do. I am also indebted to Selida for the template.
