This page has a collection of pictures that show the damage done since the 1988 Hidalgo County Historical Marker Dedication Ceremony. Please click HERE to access the linked page showing the survey of the cemetery. The list runs a little over 400 people interred in this cemetery. According to Family oral history, the first person buried here was one of the ranch workers that died from a foot infection after accidentally cutting himself with an ax while clearing brush for the new Cemetery plot.

This was taken in December 1997 to show the damage to the Angel. It was knocked off the six foot mounting pedestal and smashed. The head, cross, and right wing were smashed into rubble.

This is the Historical marker placed by Don Antonio's boveda in 11/88. It has been torn off and destroyed.

This is Don Antonio's boveda or burial vault. The steeple has been knocked down. It had stood about 5' above the vault. Note the dark circular spot on the bottom right panel of the vault. Someone tried to smash through the vault by breaking through the wall.

This is Felix's boveda, Antonio's younger son.

This magnificent 8' granite Cross lies between Don Antonio's boveda on the left and Don Florencio Saenz's monument on the right. There are no dates or any other information on the monument other than the name ANTONIO CANO at the bottom of the cross. This Antonio was probably Don Antonio's grandson, one of Feliz's sons. Oral history is that he died as a young man while helping hand digging a water well on the ranch. It is said that he slipped while lining the walls with mesquite bracers and that he drowned at the bottom of the well.
