| Elementary Students Participate in La. Young Readers' Choice Award The ARCDC Library participated in the LYRCA. The fourth and fifth grade classes attended special story times for four of the nominated books. Then, each student cast a vote for their favorite story. We had a blast! Here are the winners for our school, the parish, and the state. Martina the Beautiful Cockroach earned the most votes with Henry’s Freedom Box placing second and Dolley Madison Saves George Washington placing third. Across Caddo Parish the winning book was How to Steal a Dog and the honor book was Marley: A Dog Like No Other. The statewide winner of the LYRCA was Marley: A Dog Like No Other and the honor book was The Lemonade Club. |
