ARCDC Library Announces "Young People's Poetry Week" Poetry Contest Winner
The Academic Recovery and Career Discovery Center Library Media Center would like to congratulate the winner of this year's poetry contest, 8th grade student Janesha Simpson. Janesha's original poem, entitled "How Deep is My Love?" earned her $25 and a certificate. Thanks to all the participants.
How Deep Is My Love?
There is a concept
I need you to understand.
For my love is far greater than the world at hand.
How great is my love?
You want to know.
So great,
to great for it to show.
For it is much bigger than space.
I am overwhelmed with room.
I fill it up with haste.
It stretches farther than the moon
and shines much brighter than the sun.
It twinkles like a thousand stars.
I want it all then to have none.
It burns like an endless fire
that saturates me with heat like a volcano
it ruptures at its peak.
But like the cool gentle breeze that cools me when I’m weak.
Just like candy it can get sweet.
But as I continually love you...
It gets deep...
