ARCDC Faculty and Staff Participate in Character Day to Promote Reading
October 2011

The faculty and staff were invited to participate in a Character Day on Friday, October 28 by the library to promote reading. To participate, they chose their favorite book character, dressed like them, and brought along a copy of the book so they could tell the story of their character. Ms. Corbin's character was Laura Ingalls-Wilder. Ms. Culbert's character was Grace from the book Grace for President! Our winner, as voted by the students, was Ms. Rubben, whose character was Mary Poppins. Ms. Rubben won a $20 gift certificate to Regal Cinema at the Louisiana Boardwalk, a halloween candy assortment for herself, and a bag of candy to share with her students. Congratulations Ms. Rubben!

Note: Mr. and Mrs. Long hosted the contest. They were the Biblical couple King Xerxes and Queen Esther.
