ARCDC Students Participate in Golf Program
February 2012

Some Connections Program students from the Academic Recovery and Career Discovery Center are receiving the opportunity to participate in golf lessons at the Shreveport Country Club.

The lessons are being taught by Club Golf Pro Martin Stewart, Club Assistant Golf Pro Marty Stewart, and Mr. Bobby Brown, who has worked and trained with a number of professional golfers. Brown is also the founder and owner of the organization Hook and Swing. Through the friendship of the Stewarts and Brown, the vision of having a golf program at our school has become a reality.

After their lessons, students are served lunch at the country club. They have been joined by people such as Mr. L.D. Hudson, Assistant Golf Pro at Huntington Golf Course, Mr. Jimmy Windham, Supervisor of Academic Affairs for Caddo Parish Schools, and Mr. Freddie Burns, caddy to professional golfer Hal Sutton.
