COTAHC and the Black Stallion Litereacy Project.

COTAHC members brought two horses, 'Little Black' and 'Big Red', to visit first grade students at four area schools. At this first meeting, each student was given their own copy of the book Little Black, a Pony by Walter Farley. Students said "hello" to Little Black and Big Red and promised the horses they would be ready to read to them the next time they met. |
| The second meeting brought students to the Range Riders Arena in Amarillo. At different stations around the arena, students learned about horse care. Best of all, each student had the opportunity to read aloud to an audience of horses from their own copy of Little Black, a Pony. It was a great day! |
