Central Texas Treasure Club was formed in August 1981. Although our membership is small, we continue to attract 34 to 44 entrants at annual events from throughout Texas and other states. We are always looking for more new members to join our organization. Our club members enjoy finding old, interesting, and sometimes valuable items at different sites within the local area and counties. As a free service to the local community, we assist and help others to find their lost jewelry or valuables. We take just as much pride and excitement when a member returns an old lost class ring or wedding band to the rightful owner as we do in finding old coins and relics! We also support and participate in other highly rewarding events each year such as the Texas Lions Club annual hunt in Kerrville, Texas where we demonstrate and show handicapped children how easy it is to use a metal detector and reap the fun and enjoyment of treasure hunting as a hobby. These kids get to keep all of their finds and it is a rewarding experience for us as well as them. In addition, our Central Texas Treasure Club has participated in public activities each year such as the Texas Council of Treasure Clubs Annual Expo where our display of treasure finds have garnered many First Place Awards! (See the Photo Album page). Also, we have had guest speakers at our club meetings (held 1st Tuesday of each month) that covers related topics of our hobby such as panning for gold, caving (spilunkering), Comanche County history, and even how to clean and care for coins and relics. If you are interested in joining our club and enjoying this interesting hobby, then sign up by filling out and completing the Membership Application form.
