I love searching for stuff on the web. The more you search the better you get at finding things. I'm convinced that anyone with enough patience can find anything on the web. A River Bender once told me about a web page on "Antlions", alias "Doodlebugs" but you're probably not into bugs so what we're going to do in this article is search for calculators that can compute all sorts of nice things for you. I'll show you the search words I used in http:// www.google.com to find a few calculators and list the addresses in case you're interested then you can search for them using your own topics, like gardening, cycling, electricity, etc.
Search for: Health caculator
Found: http://www.foundhealth.com/tools/ This site computes ideal body weight, body mass index, and calories burned during activities. All you have to do is answer a few questions.
Search for: Heart calculator
Found: http://hin.nhlbi.nih.gov/atpiii/calculator.asp After entering your age and cholesterol data the calculator determines your risk of having a heart attack within the next 10 years.
Search for: Heart rate calculator
Found: http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heart.htm This determines if your exercise is aerobic and helping your heart.
Search for: Cancer risk
Found: http://www.yourcancerrisk.harvard.edu This site covers all types of cancer and does a risk analysis after you input data on your lifestyle.
Search for: Lifespan calculator
Found: http://pezeshkonline.com/lifespan.htm I not so sure that this calculator is working right because it said I died 12 years ago. Either I made a typo or maybe I should have died.
Search for: Conversion calculator
Found: http://www.onlineconversion.com/ This calculator converts just about anything to anything. You should bookmark this one for metric conversions.
Search for: Building cost calculator
Found: http://www.building-cost.net/ Hey, suppose your house burned down and you had to replace it. This calculator will provide you with costs for material, labor and equipment for your general area. Don't let your homeowners insurance stick you with too much coverage on your dwelling. Also use this calculator to get a handle on new home building costs.
Search for: Stock screening
Found: http://screen.yahoo.com/stocks.html. This site lets you search for stocks that fit the criteria you're looking for such as industry, price range, performance, earnings, etc. On the same page there's a bond and fund screen. If you're not already using http://yahoo.finance.com for your portfolio you should be.
Search for: Relocation calculator
Found: http://www.homefair.com If you're thinking of moving you need to look at this web page because it's loaded with calculators and stuff to help you in the relocation. There's too much to list here. Great web page.
Search for: Language translator
Found: http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en Hey, this is a neat Google language tools web page that lets you type in English and it translates to German, Spanish, French or Portugese. Many other translations too. Great!
Search for: Insurance Rating
Found: http://www.insure.com/ratings/ Your insurance rates went up so you're looking for another company. This page rates all types of insurance companies in all states using Standard & Poors and Fitch financial ratings. By the way you can get online quotes from many insurance companies now.
