Agenda and Activities TBD

Now for the Directions: Both routes are hilly and windy, so make sure your ride is in tip top shape.  Click here for a map

From Sacramento area, find your way to Oroville. As you are approaching Oroville on Highway 70, take the Oro Dam exit (Highway 162). Follow Highway 162 all through town and out the other end. Highway 162 will eventually turn into the Oro Quincy Highway. From here you are about an hour to an hour to an hour and a half to go depending on what you are driving and towing. About 45 miles to go. Once you are finally up and over the top and get near Buck’s Lake you will go down past a campground on your left. Shortly after that you will make a left turn on Bucklin Rd. towards Hutchins Group camp. Stay on this road approximately 2 miles until you see the left turn for the Hutchins group camp (Across from the entrance to the SUNDEW campground).  Enter the Hutchins group camp and drive down the dirt road about ½ mile to the site. From the Reno, Truckee, Tahoe area, find your way to Truckee. Take Highway 89 north through Graeagle till it Ts into Highway 70 at Blairsden. Take the Hiway 70/89 to Quincy. Go through Quincy to the other end and look for the Buck’s Lake turnoff. From there it is about 15 miles to Buck’s up a pretty steep grade. Up the road a bit you will see the road split. It is best if you are driving a rig and a boat to take the left fork. It’s a little longer, but not as steep as the other one. Both end up at Bucks. Proceed up the road till you see the turn off to Hutchins group camp. Turn right on Bucklin Rd. and stay on this road until you see the left turn for the Hutchins group camp (Across from the entrance to the SUNDEW campground). Enter the Hutchins group camp and drive down the dirt road about ½ mile to the site. Google Map and Directions
