========================== Grasshopper A grasshopper posed In the hot midday. A camera poised — Don't fly away. Two creatures paused — Both part of nature. No words exchanged A moment to capture. Who's anvil forged its fortified frame? What hammer pounded each plates' pattern? Who's nomenclature gave it a compound name? Why should these juxtaposed attributes matter? The camera observes, the focus aligns — Observation alone matters here. Who's loom wove its fretwork designs? Does it ask "from whence?" or "to where?" Armored exoskeleton Fit for its world. Hinged legs its violin Springs upward — wings unfurl. Perched again on a grass blade Too hot to sing So wondrously made. What will night bring? =========================== |
