Generations of names dating back In time, a century and a half, or so. Yell county pioneers settling its meadows and hills . Raising their families to respect this land, Making a living and educating their children To revere the place they called "Home." Move around the grounds, stroll down the aisles Note the surnames clustered together. Side by side in death, as in life, Mamas and Papas, Grandpas and Grannys, all honored this decoration day. Sprays of flowers brighten the scene Each year on this first Sunday of May Majestic Mt. Nebo looks down from above This nostalgic spot's western tree line— Ever guarding these cherished plots of Promised Land. Kinfolk know the cloud of beloved witnesses — Interred within this sacred ground — join together To watch over this gentle green slope. Three centuries of octogenarians and babies Laid to rest on this sweet gentle slope Away from the rush and clamor of today's busy world.
