Stutler Family Reunion A family reunion date  unknown.

From Karen Hoff
Wendell Stutler was here for a little bit today, and he’d had the picture of the house with a bunch of Stutlers in front of it blown up to about 12 by 18 and had identified some of the folks (this is the picture you scanned).  He identified the white haired man and woman sitting down front with some children as being Christopher and Mary Goff Stutler.  The dark complexioned little boy to the extreme left (standing on the porch) he identified as his dad, Guy Benson Stutler, and the man beside him as his grandfather Benson and the woman beside him as his grandmother Annie McCutcheon Stutler.  The young man just to the right of her he believes is his Dad’s brother Ray.  He thought he knew who some of the others were but wasn’t completely sure.  He was comparing it to other pictures he had made from tin types his Dad left and had labeled with the names on them.

The folks standing up on the porch directly to the right of Ray Stutler and the woman who may or may not be his wife are my great grandparents.  James B. Stutler has on a light colored suit and directly to his right is his wife, Mary Conrad Stutler.  To Mary’s right is their son, J. Holly Stutler who was my grandfather.  Standing directly in front of James B. Stutler is their son Benjamin Stutler.  I can’t tell if the two young women standing on either side of Benjamin are his sisters Ella Fluvanna and Birdie Mae or not.  Somehow I don’t believe they look like the pictures of them I gave you.

Stutler Family Reunion 2 Ben, our cousin (my second cousin) Grace Zinn in Morgantown sent this one yesterday.  It is a photo taken the same day as the one with the old house I sent you.  Grace figured that out, and I have to agree as the clothing on these people exactly matches the ones with the old house.

You can read Grace’s note about Christopher and Mary, and Mary Helen Stutler and James B. Stutler were my great grandparents.  The Uncle Holly she refers to is my Grandpa Holly who was a brother to Uncle Ben, Aunt Bird and Vannah (Grace’s Mom).  Wendell Stutler identified some more in the picture with the house.  The woman right in the center of the photo is his grandmother Annie McCutcheon Stutler and the man beside here with some flowers on his jacket is his grandpa Benson Stutler.  The little boy on the extreme left sitting on the ground is his Dad, Guy Benson Stutler.  I don’t know, but suspect that your Grandpa Everett Stutler is one of the boys.  Your great grandma Emma may be in this picture, but I really don’t know for sure.  I sort of suspect she might be the one sort of behind and to the right of old Mary Stutler.

Lyle blew this up in our Kodak digital camera software and it makes it lots clearer.

I am enclosing a copy of the Stutler Reunion picture, date unknown, but apparently taken the same day as the picture you sent to me.  It is a closer up picture.  There are no names with the picture.

I was trying to figure out about when it was taken.  If Christopher died in 1907, we know it was before that.

My mom was 23 when she got married in December of 1908.

In the picture, Christopher Stutler is on the left with a cane.  Next to him is Mary Goff Stutler.

Behind them is Mary Helen Conrad and James B. Stutler.  (I never knew what the B.stood for)

In the back row about the center is Uncle Ben.  He has his hair parted in the middle. Right in front of  him in the middle row, is my Mom, Ella Fluvanna "Vanna" Stutler.

The third boy from the left on the ground is Uncle Holly.

Aunt Bird is in the back row, second from right, with a bow or something in her hair.

That is all I know in the picture.
