Mary (Hannon) Morin
After I graduated from CHS in 1960, I attended St. Mary College in Leavenworth, KS and
graduated in 1964. I worked in volunteer work in Louisiana until 1966. I then worked as a
Case Worker in St. Joseph, MO for three years. I got married during this time and moved
to several different places in Missouri. I then moved to Kansas City with two adopted sons.
I went through a divorce in 1970.

I then completed two Master's programs and worked as an inner city teacher in Language
Arts and Computers for 26 years. Retired three years ago and am loving it

As I look back at others' lives, I feel like we've been blessed. All that being said, partying is
still close to the top of my list of favorite things to do.

Peggy Grace Vaughter and I would take my dad's car and go to Stillwater cruising the
Sonic while we were supposed to be at the library. My love of books was shared by Peggy
who died two years ago. It was Peggy who told me I was sincere about my Catholic faith.
It was hard to be the only Catholic girl in our class. I answered lots of questions in our
shorthand class with Mrs. Rainwater. (That was before separation of church and state.) I
didn't feel like I had a lot of answers at that time. I guess I did okay and I have played an
active roll in my local church for years.

Last year I made my fourth trip to El Salvador. I also work to serve meals to the homeless.
I recall a friend's words that "we are all poor until all the women and children of the world
are uplifted out of poverty."

My prayers go out to you all.
