After graduation I worked through the summer and then served 6 months active duty with the U.S. Army. In the fall of 1961, I returned to Cushing and went to work for Brady Oil Service. Willene Jones and I were married August 3, 1962. We moved to Amarillo, Texas in February 1963 where Firestone Tire Company employed me. In September 1965, I went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Henryetta, OK. We lived there for 4 months and then transferred to Stillwater. In August of 1968, I transferred to Cushing and we have lived in the area since. Willene and I both retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1998. We have one son, one daughter and three grandchildren. We have always enjoyed traveling. Since retiring we have been able to travel in our RV. We've been from Nova Scotia in the Northeast to Victoria, British Colombia in the Northwest and have been blessed to see much of our beautiful country. In addition to traveling, we have spent the winters in Mesa, AZ since 2001. We are very blessed. Wallace McLaury |
