PLANS FOR OUR 50th YEAR CLASS GET TOGETHER Reunion
weekend will kick-off at any time Friday, May 28th, with
registration at Reunion Hall, located at 116 E. Broadway, where
you will be able to pick up your name badge and "program of
events" for the weekend. Registration may also be completed
Saturday morning.

FRIDAY NIGHT - we will meet at the Vallarta Mexican
Restaurant. It is a great restaurant at the corner of Cleveland and
Moses, come early for dinner. The back room is reserved for our
"get re-acquainted party" starting at 6:30 P.M. and will feature
60's music, light snacks and refreshments.

SATURDAY - will kick off with a Lion's Club Pancake Breakfast,
come-and-go 6 AM to 10 AM at the corner of Broadway and
Central Avenue followed by the parade at 11:00 A.M. Last year,
the cost for this event was $5.00 per person. Lunch will be served
at the Methodist Church and then off to the Country Club for
dinner and an evening of 60's music and getting reacquainted
with old friends….

Total cost for our planned events (the Friday night mixer,
Saturday noon luncheon and Saturday evening dinner) will be
$30.00 per person or $55.00 per couple…both the Friday Night
gathering and the Country Club dinner will have optional cash
bars. Paid reservations are to be made by May 1, 2010. Please

75.00 per couple.
Late reservations cannot be taken after May 21, 2010.

As always, we are requesting additional cash donations to help
defray the cost of these events as our funds are meager, and there
are costs associated with organizing these events that are not
covered by the meal charges.

Hotels in Stillwater, Drumright and Cushing have been contacted
and we want to pass along telephone numbers for those wanting
to make reservations.

COME ONE , COME ALL ! Spotlight on Dora Hobbs on May 29, 2010 in Cushing .

You are invited to attend the celebration and dedication of the Dora Hobbs Performing Arts
Center.
We welcome you to be a part of a very special day and event , to join other former students,
friends, admirers, and family of our beloved Dora Hobbs.

Event Information:
Celebration of Dora Hobbs, Drama & Speech Teacher at CHS from l943-1964.
Dedication : The Cushing High School Auditorium will be renamed The Dora Hobbs
Performing Arts Center.

Recent and continuing donations are making it possible for exterior illuminated lettering of
the new name on the auditorium building and for a portrait of Dora Hobbs and a plaque inside
the lobby.

Date: May 29, 2010
Place and Times: Cushing High School Campus, 1700 E. Walnut St.
2:00 p.m. - CHS Main Entrance school lobby for a meet and greet reception
3:00 p.m. - Dora Hobbs Performing Arts Center for Dedication Ceremony.
Visiting can be resumed after the ceremony .

A Meet & Greet gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m - We will serve light refreshments and
exchange "Dora Stories and Memories " , and take time to walk down memory lane to read the
displays of letters, programs, photos, yearbooks, and many other pieces of memorabilia that
you will enjoy .

The Dedication Ceremony will begin with a ribbon cutting , and continue inside the
auditorium. Speakers and presenters will include Gary West, Arthur Bartow, Jay Daniel,
Clayton Vaughn, and Bill Giorda .

We welcome any comments and questions regarding this momentous occasion, and hope that
you will make every effort to attend this event to celebrate with us.
We have been working on this project with pride and excitement and are so proud that it has
grown from an idea to a reality.

If you would like to contribute to this project and have not received the email form to fill out
and mail please let me know. There will also be a donation box at the reception.

If you have any memorabilia about Dora , her classes and plays, please feel welcome to share
them with us .

DVD's will be available for purchase . They cover Dora Hobbs CHS teaching career years
l943-l964. Peggy Randall-Martin has done a terrific job putting these together . You can also
enjoy watching them during this event at the school.

Saturday- May 29:
6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - Cushing Lion's Club annual pancake breakfast - $5 per person.
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Open house visiting and browsing at Alumni Hall
10:30 a.m. : Parade line up at west end of Broadway by depot
11:00 a.m.: Parade - Emcee Dana Fisher and KUSH's Sean Kelly
2:00 p.m.: Dora Hobbs Memorial reception / dedication at the new Dora Hobbs Performing
Arts Center located on the Cushing High School campus.
6:30 p.m.: Reunion dinner at the Elk's lodge catered by Steer Inn followed by a Special Awards
Ceremony and Special Recognition .

We do not handle the reservations for the dinner at the Elk's Club.
