FHFC BEACON ARTICLE FOR NOVEMBER 2007
Wayne Smith reviewed his recent
experiences of fishing in Alaska. If anyone is interested and joining him in
2008, get in touch with him as soon as possible. Ron Zielinski and Jerry
Manfredi presented Aric Bruggeworth with his plaque for winning the Red Drum
Challenge in August. Ron and Jerry promise that next year’s event will be
bigger, better and full of surprises.
After dinner and during dessert, which also was provided by many of the
attendees, an auction was conducted by Elmer Stenzel with help from his son
Greg. Over $880 was raised to help sponsor future fishing club events. The 50-50
raffle was won by Bob Luhrs.
Many thanks to co-chairs Bob Armstrong
and Wayne Massetti and their committee who organized the feast and
to Elmer “ the Huckster” Stenzel for
providing the entertainment.
Our speaker for November will be
Cap’t Dave Stewart, owner of Minnesott Beach Bait, Tackle and Crafts. Dave is an
experienced Speckled Trout angler and will share many of his techniques with us.
Spec fishing has been very good this year and we expect it to continue right on
through the winter. In December we will be holding a planning session to discuss
the programs and events we want to hold in 2008. Everyone is encouraged to
attend and share their ideas and guidance for next year’s activities. Our
meetings are normally held on the first Wednesday of the month at our Community
Center on Broad Creek Road at 7:00pm and anyone may attend. Visit our web site
at //pages.suddenlink.net/fhfc/ for updated information and photos concerning
future and past events.
