My grandfather was Walter Preston He was born aprox. 1890's He married 2 times first was Emma Marcum they had 6 children, 2 of which is burried in Beauty KY . His parents were Pea Preston and a married a lady with the last name Moore.If anyone can give me info on him or before it would be greatfull. They were from maybe Ky ,WVa or Oh. Thank you JA Preston

Dear Fred, I have just recently started my "Preston" search. I have enjoyed your web page and am very proud to be a Preston! I trace my line back to 1737 with the birth of William Preston in Virginia, wife, Sarah ?. They had seven children, Abijah 1760 marr./Margaret Simpson Warden, Harp ???, Joseph 1775 marr./Abigail Finney, Robert ???, Abigail marr./Daniel Long, Susan marr./John McGilliard and John B. Preston. England has great lineage. My line descends from what was considered an old Roman family around the 12th century in Assisi, Italy. The town it seems had older nobiles from older castles.

My brother and I have extensive research on Prestons of Johnson County. Originally we believed we descended from Moses Sr. - Nathaniel line. Still possible, but we are finding some inaccuracy. We will be happy to share info with anyone. Brother Scott is a 30 year vetran history teacher in Johnson Co, with info on most County families.
