My Declarations - Information on this page has been acquired through quite a bit of research and effort. There is still a lot of research to do and more information to obtain. The following is what I have found and my information is very vague. It has been very hard researching so far back.

I haven't found any information on JAMES HUGGINS.   His son was JOHN1 HUGGINS.

JOHN1 HUGGINS was at this point, a Scot-Irish Presbyterian, who came to America with his wife, MARY CARRUTH, and her brothers in 1729 aboard the ship "Deligence of Glasgow". The destination of  the "Deligence of Glasgow" was Philadelphia. They migrated to Lancaster, PA. and later to Iredell Co., NC., eventually moving back to PA. Some of  the children of  JOHN and MARY moved into Princess Ann Co., VA. and then into old Tryon Co., and later Lincoln and Rowan Counties, NC.

MARY was born in 1697 in Belfast County of Antrim, Northern Ireland, the daughter of James Carruth and Margaret Court of  Renfrew, Scotland, she died in 1755 in Lancaster, PA. Their children were: i. November 28, 1723 in Belfast, married unknown, d. unknown. vii.JOHN2 HUGGINS b. March 25, 1725 in Belfast, married ELIZABETH BETSY HENDERSON in 1748 in Lancaster, PA. She was born in 1728 and died on July 6, 1806, in Lincoln Co., NC. He died on November 12, 1811 in Lincoln Co., NC. Both are buried at Olney Presbyterian Church in Gastonia, NC. viii. Lived in Pendleton District, Spartanburg, SC. until Abt. 1797. he then traveled into Kentucky  and traded with the Indians in the Choctaw lands of Western Kentucky and Tennessee. Settled in Livingston Co., KY. and stayed there until he migrated into Tennessee aaound 1823, and settled in the newly formed Weakley County. His younger brother William, who was in Kentucky with JOHN,  left at this time for Ohio to join another brother, Robert. Their children were: i. NOTE: WILLIAM9 EDGAR and Tula were living with their maternal Grandparents, David and Bathsheba Hardin in the 1900 census, following the death of their mother ALTHENA in 1898 and GEORGE'S re-marriage to Viola Hamilton in 1902. GEORGE and Viola's children were: i. Homer ii. Elsie and iii. Bessie
