Player Responsibilities
1. Sign-up sheets will be on the League bulletin board in the Pro Shop. Deadline to sign up is noon on Saturday. Do not call the Pro Shop and ask them to sign you up or take your name off the list. 2. To cancel or sign up late, call one of the captains for the month. If you cannot reach a captain, call the Tournament Chair. Do not leave messages on answering devices. 3. Arrive at the golf course at least 30 minutes before starting time. 4. Play READY GOLF. (See hints on page 8.) 5. Putt out on Association play days except for certain team games when your ball will not be used. 6. Mark scorecards correctly. Have both cards signed, attested and dated. Submit both cards (one is for ringers). Players are responsible for scores on each hole. Inaccurate stroke count will disqualify a player/team. 7. Post play day scores as regular golf. Ace of the Month scores will be entered as a tournament score by the Pro Shop Handicap Committee.. 8. Be familiar with the rules of the USGA. 9. Circle any natural birdie or natural eagle on the ringer card. A natural birdie or eagle is your gross on a given hole.
Guidelines1. To compete in any Association tournament or play day, a handicap must be established prior to the event. 2. All games will be played to a maximum handicap of 40 for 18-hole play and 20 for 9-hole play. 3. If a play day or tournament is canceled, the Tournament Chair will email the membership at least one (1) hour prior to starting time. 4. Field of players will determine flights. At least one-third of the field will be paid. If no one finishes in a flight, prize money for that flight will be divided equally among remaining flights. 5. In case of ties in an individual event, the monies for two or more places shall be added and then divided by the number of players tied so that all players tied receive an equal amount. 6. Ties in 18-hole team events will be played off using scorecards beginning with the best score on the back nine (holes 10-18), then the best score of the last six holes (13-18), then the best score on the last three holes (16-18) and finally the best score on hole 18. A tie in a major tournament (Ace of the Month, President’s Cup, League Championship) will be resolved by a sudden victory play-off. Nine-hole team event ties will be determined by using the hole handicaps beginning with #1 for the front 9 and #2 for the back. 7. If a player chooses to “no card”, she must declare illness, personal emergency or severe weather concerns and discontinue play at that time. 8. A player may disqualify herself from a play day by picking up on a hole and recording her maximum allowable score on that hole. She may then continue to play and will post the score as a play day score. 9. To be eligible for the Association Champion or Most Improved Player Award, a player must have competed in at least 50% of the Association’s play days to date for the current year.
