Summer 2014 in the Rockies
We returned to mountains that we missed so much. The air was fresh and the atmosphere was relaxing. K and J enjoyed the hot springs while the boys explored the mountain passes on their Jeep rental. It's a pilgrim trip for finally visiting John Denver Sanctuary in Aspen, Colorado.

Onto Alaska 2013
Alaska is known as The Last Frontier. We were fortunate enough to visit it from the sea. Those magnificent glaciers, fjords, rain forests, and wildlife are just breathtaking. On top of that, having the family together on a cruise ship for a full week is something unforgettable.

Spring Break 2013
We made it to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is a beautiful place surrounded by mountains that we miss a lot. Bandelier National Monument is full of natural and cultural wonders, while Great Sand Dunes National Park allows you to immerse yourself with the universe of no end. Rio Grande Gorge is a big surprise. You wonder how long it takes to make this happen!

Summer Vacation 2011
We escaped from the heat and drought in Texas by visiting Seattle, Washington. This time, the landmark of Mt. Rainier is a must-do. Also visited are Vancouver, Whistler, and Victoria of British Columbia, Canada. What exciting is that we finally visited Jenny's Aunts Shenlie and Katsumi in Seattle after several years of planning.

Year 2010 Recollection
In 2010, Szu-Yung graduated from high school and moved to Austin staying with Szu-Chun and beginning his college years. In June, I-Kuai flew to Shanghai, China on his 50th birthday. He and Jenny visited Yi-Ling, Michael, and Maxi. Later in the summer, we had a grand family reunion in Texas. The house was packed with 12 people at one time. It was a lot of fun. Finally, I-Kuai received the Award of Faculty Achievement for Teaching. It's quite an honor and experience attending the gala.

Revisit Big Bend
Since last trip to Big Bend in 2006, we have been thinking about going back. This time, we stayed in an adobe in the desert, hiked on the Lost Mine Trail, encountered several wildlife, visited the MacDonald Observatory, and saw the Marfa lights. The most important is that Robin was with us.

Holidays at the end of 2009
We went down to Galveston, Texas and stayed on the coast of Gulf of Mexico. This is the first time we include Robin for our family vacation. Then, we visited YP family and enjoyed a white Christmas in Dallas. Finally, the Kuang family came visit in Nacogdoches.  We concluded a fruitful year of 2009.

Black Hills
In the summer of 2009, YP and his family joined us for a family vacation in the Black Hills. We got to visit a lot of National Parks, Monuments, and Memorial.  It is always fun staying with family.

Europe 2009
We took a trip to Europe where I-Kuai gave a presentation at the International Symposium on Society and Resource Management in Vienna, Austria.  Taking this opportunity, we visited other interesting places including Amsterdam and Salzburg.  The only imperfection is that I-Kuai's wallet got stolen in the subway.  So, be cautious when traveling in Europe.

The End of 2008 Trip
At the end of 2008, we took a road trip to visit friends living in the Northeast.  In two weeks we crossed 16 states with a total of 4,004 miles.  The winter over there is very different from east Texas.  However, the friendship remains the same.

Review of 2008
Year 2008 has been another year full of blessings.  Szu-Chun graduated from Texas Academy of Math and Science and went on to UT Austin for aerospace engineering.  He and Jenny made a trip back to Taiwan in June.  Szu-Yung got his driver license and became one of the best teenage drivers in Texas.  I-Kuai received Teaching Excellent Award after five years of hard work. Jenny's mother, sister, and their family finally came to visit.  They concluded that Nacogdoches is the best place in the U.S. they ever visited.  Andy and his family stayed in town for the second half of 2008.  We'll definitely miss them.

Palo Duro & Caprock Canyons, Dec. 2007
It is claimed that Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the United States. Texans are proud for The Grand Canyon of Texas. You have no idea how big it is until you visit it.

Summer Vacation 2007
In summer 2007 we spent two weeks traveling through 11 states in 2 countries. We left foot prints in Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, Banff and the coast of Washington. On the way back to Texas, we stopped by the Four Corners and the Arches. Our minivan was loaded with tons of beautiful memories stretching 6,000 miles.

Home Away From Home, Texas
Since winter 1999 we started with a 2-bed room rental house, then 3-bed room rental. Finally we moved into our own house on Colonial Hills in November 2003. During different stages there are always friends and family giving us support. We really appreciate all of these. Nacogdoches has been our home away from home.

Back to Taiwan 2006/2007
It had been a couple of years before we finally got back to visit Taiwan. We were amazed by how much it has changed since. Something did not change is the everlasting friendship and the family who are always there for you.

Trip to France
In summer 2006 we visited Rebecca, Michael and Maxi in Paris, France. We were immersed in the metropolis of culture and art and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of Provence. Everything is very French.

The Great Outdoor
We enjoy being out of door. There is always something to explore. Whenever we get chance, we go for it.

My Dog Robin
Robin joined the family in November 2006. He is a blue heeler mix and he likes to stick with people. In his world there is no bad guy. He will always give you his warmest greetings no matter who you are.

Class of 1982, NTU Forestry
Jenny and I-Kuai went to college together.  Both graduated from National Taiwan University in spring 1982 receiving a BS degree in Forestry.  On campus, we met a group of wonderful people and most of them became lifetime friends.
