Newsletter - June 2001
June 6th: Our Women’s Spirituality Group will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
on this Wednesday. We'll meet at the Fire Station at 2109 Sam Houston Avenue.
There will be coffee but no refreshments. Beth Williamson will discuss a book called The Paper Bag Princess
and cultural expectations for women. [Some of us may go to lunch after the meeting.]
On Monday, July 1, we will discuss The Red Tent. June 10: Dr. Schulman's topic is Qualities of a Religious Person. He says, "What does it mean to be religious? There are lots of ways to answer that question. My way was to think of people I consider religious and wonder what they have in common. This is mostly arbitrary but this is how it seems to me." June 13: The Women's group will meet for lunch at the Putter's Parlor at Elkins Lake. Please call Anne Sigler at 295-8810 if you plan to come to this Wednesday, June 13th meeting. It helps to give a count to the chef the day before we lunch, but if you forget, come on anyway. It doesn't have to be that close a tabulation. Reminder: We meet only on the second Sunday of each month during June, July, and August. We do not meet on the fourth Sunday during these months. At our annual business meeting we elected the following officers for the church year 2001-2002:
President: Scott Plummer |
