Dr. Frank Schulman's sermon topic is "Theodore Parker, A True Prophet." Dr. Shulman says: "Ask any UU about the three greatest names in our movement and the reply will be Channing, Emerson, and Parker. Parker is the least known but his importance was great and we need to be reminded of him. He was outspoken on a wide array of social and theological causes. He was taken by his fellow Unitarian ministers to be a heathen and publican. His colleagues would not speak to him on the street. They would not shake hands with him or sit beside him at meetings. Why do we honor him instead of throwing stones at him?"

Joey Ballesteros, who works for Educational Video in Huntsville, recently returned from India where he worked for two months with the "Bombay children" group. He will discuss his experiences with the children and with India.

Wednesday, October 3: The Women's Sharing Circle will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the fire station meeting room at 2109 Sam Houston Avenue. Kathleen Donovan will show the video "He Said, She Said" and lead a discussion on how men and women communicate differently.

The Red Hat Society will lunch at Cinco de Mayo on 11th Street at 1:00 PM.
