Books Reviewed:
Ann Staples comments on Islam by Karen Armstrong: a timely book that is very good for general information. It includes a list of major characters in the history of of Islam, a glossary of words, and a chronology, in addition to the text. Among the books dealing with a recent interest in the attitude of the Roman Catholic Church toward the Jews and what the Pope and the Church did to help Jews during the Nazi period is Papal Sin: Structures of Deceit by Gary Wills.

Independent Films in Huntsville:
This is to people interested in being notified when independent films will be coming to Cinema 10 in Huntsville. The first film will be this Friday, Feb. 1, and is The Royal Tenenbaums.

Visitors:
David E. Graham, a visitor from All Souls UU Church in Fargo, North Dakota, attended our January 27th service. He mentioned that he had trouble finding us as we are not listed in the phone directory. He found us by using the UU webpage. David is enjoying our balmy weather, since the high in Fargo for January 30 is 10 degrees, with a predicted low of 10 degrees.
Perhaps we should consider again getting a phone which could stay in someone's home. Southwestern Bell now has an answering service, Call Notes, which could carry a message about our services. In the past we have felt that the expense was not justified.
