Huntsville UU Services
Sunday, September 8, 10:30 AM, Laura Chapel at HMH:
Dr. Frank Schulman's sermon is "That Old Time Unitarian Religion."
Dr. Schulman says, "These are hard times. Maybe not hard so much as confused.
There are so many problems facing us that we are tempted to throw up our
hands and forget about all the turmoil. There are lots of things we can do
and most of them won't work. A furious rash of legislation isn't likely to
accomplish much. Peace conferences and economic sanctions haven't worked.
Amidst all that, Unitarianism has a message our world needs. Unitarianism,
we may say, is faith with its sleeves rolled up."
Ancient Reading: Matthew 6:19-33
Modern Reading: from "Unitarian Christianity" by William Ellery Channing
Loyalty Sunday:
We encourage all members and friends to be present in our service on Sunday,
September 8 for our Loyalty Sunday. Our highest attendance ever was 52 and we
would like to go above that number.
Service of the Right Hand of Fellowship
During our worship on Sept. 8, we will welcome those who wish to join the
Huntsville Fellowship at this time, and those who have joined during the last
year. This service is our way of welcoming into our church family those who
wish to become part of us. It is not a requirement for membership but it
gives the congregation a chance to welcome new members. If you have any
questions about membership, please speak to one of the officers of the church
or Dr. Schulman. (281 362-8226)
