Huntsville UU Services

Sunday, May 11, 10:30 AM, Laura Chapel at HMH:

Dr. Schulman's sermon will be "Emerson and Self-Reliance." Emerson is best known for his essay on
self-reliance. It was a constant theme and his life showed his devotion to the idea. Yet the idea is little understood and
we will examine what Emerson really meant by self-reliance. It isn't what most people think. May 25 is the 200th
anniversary of the birth of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Our religion will be strengthened by understanding the great man
	better.

Ancient Reading: Luke 6: 43-49

Modern Reading: from "Self-Reliance" by Ralph Waldo Emerson
