Huntsville UU Services
Sun. April 11: Dr. Frank Schulman's sermon title is " The Message of the Cross."
Easter raises the question of immortality. There is a general kind of immortality, in which we live through our children, good works, and our influence.
There is a different kind, too, in which the personality is preserved and we are not lost forever, but continue in a meaningful way
with God. Can it be? We don't know; but we wonder.
At the end of this Easter Service, there will be Communion that
is open to everyone who wishes to participate, without regard to belief. Participate if you wish to renew your desire to
be a better person. If you do not wish to participate, you may simply pass the bread and wine to the next person.
Join us afterward for a pot luck lunch at the home of Anne and Kelley Sigler.
Sun. April 25: Naomi Lede will be our speaker. Her topic is "Strength, Faith, and
Character of Afro-American Women." Naomi writes a column for the Huntsville Item. She is Senior Research Scientist,
Texas Transportation Institute, Texas A & M University System and a semi-retired educator living in Huntsville. She has
written 10 books and more than 300 research studies/articles/professional papers on urban planning, community development,
education, and transportation issues and problems. Her other accolades are too numerous to list as they would be longer than
this entire newsletter. Suffice it to say, she has led and continues to lead a busy, productive life.
Sun. May 2: The annual Huntsville Unitarian business meeting will meet
at the home of Karl and Melissa
Mahaffey at 10:30 a.m. Officers will be elected and a budget established for the coming year. Bring a dish to share and join
us for lunch and business.
Huntsville UU Women

along the way. For those who want to carpool, meet at the Penney's parking lot at 10:45. Plan to meet in Brenham at 12:30
for lunch at the restaurant, It Must Be Heaven.
Wed. April 14: The UU Women will join the Red Hat Society for lunch at
The Mill Pond Restaurant in Trinity at 1:00.
UU Book Club
April: The UU Book Club will meet at the home of Kelley and
Anne Sigler after church on April 11. Kelley will review Sea of Glory
