Sun. May 8: Dr. Schulman will return and his sermon will be "Religious Agnosticism." Religion is confusing. In youth we were taught certain things, some of which weren't true. The whole idea of intellectual commitment requires a constant rethinking. We want to understand our religion and make it part of living. So what can we believe? Science, especially from Sir Isaac Newton, overturned much of our belief and people began to doubt. Agnosticism is usually thought of as semi-atheism but that isn't so. Doubt is a position of strength, in religion as in science. Let's look at how agnosticism helps us with the religious life.

Sun. May 22: Our program is entitled "The Celebration of Life." Instead of having one main speaker, we'll all participate as a group or as individuals. There will be congregational singing, the reading of poems and short readings, solos, and duets dealing with upbeat, positive, or perhaps humorous subjects in celebrating life. Bring a poem or reading to share, or plan to bring your guitar and sing a solo, duet, or trio.
