"All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love in one hand and laughter in the other.” --August Wilson

Huntsville UU Services
During the summer months of June, July and August, services will be held once each month at 10:30 a.m. in the Laura Chapel of Huntsville Memorial Hospital. The August service will be on the 4th Sunday, August 26. For more information call (936) 295-3170.

Sun. August 26: Rev. Tom Capo’s sermon will be “Let's Talk About G-d". Each of us has struggled with whether there is a God/Goddess/Divine Being of some sort. Many of us wonder is this G-d a personal divine spirit, a distant clockmaker—setting the universe spinning and stepping back and watching what happens--, or a concept made up by humankind to help us cope with the stresses of living in a chaotic world. Let us explore the various understandings of G-d, and perhaps deepen our awareness of our personal understanding of G-d.

Huntsville UU Women
The Women's Sharing Circle will suspend meetings for the summer months of June, July and August. Meetings will resume in September with a report on the trip to San Miguel de Allende that was made by members and friends of our fellowship during the month of August.

New Time for Coffee
At our next service, Aug. 26, come at 10:00 for coffee and conversation before the service. Coffee will not be served after the service in August. Post-service conversation will continue over lunch.

Goodbye to Kathleen Donovan
Last month one of our members, Kathleen Donovan, moved to Sherman Texas to be near her daughter, Colleen. Kathleen has been a valued member of our community and we will miss her greatly. She would love to keep in touch with everybody here. (Note she doesn't always get to the phone before the answering machine picks ups, so don't hang up just because you get the answering machine.)

UU Trip to Mexico
Carla McAdams, her neighbor and friend Judy Lee, Beth Williamson, her sister Barbara Drake, and Rick Norman, Anne True, Alex, Elliot, and Payson will be in Mexico from Aug 2-11. They will attend the UU service at San Miguel de Allende with Roy and Carol Turner, who are part of the 80-member congregation there.

Church History
Joan Stringer is compiling an album of church history. If you have old photos and documents from church functions, please see that she gets them when she returns in September from her travels.

UU Book Club
The book club is waiting for someone to suggest a book and for someone else to volunteer to host the discussion meeting. How about you?

Diversity Forum
Dr. Naomi Lede spoke on the development of education in Walker County at the July meeting. Watch the Item for the time and location of the next meeting, usually held each month on the 2nd Monday. These programs are for everyone in the community.

Book Reviews submitted by Anne Stpls
Cousin and Strangers: America, Britain and Europe in a New Century by Chris Patten
Patten was the last British governor of Hong Kong and the European Commissioner for External Relations from 1999-2004. This latest book of his is very readable and contains up-to-date information. He has also written East and West: China, Power and the Future of Asia , a book that includes information on what approaches the US should take when dealing with China. Neither of these books is available at Huntsville Public Library and must be ordered through inter-library loan.

How Doctors Think by Jerome Groopman, MD
This is a readable and informative book that gives excellent insight into medical situations by using real examples. It is particularly helpful by giving patients the correct questions to ask that will lead a good diagnosis. This book is available at the Huntsville Public Library.

Einstein by Walter Issacson
This 18-disk audio book CD (21.5 hrs) is an understandable, personable biography of Albert Einstein. It is available at the Huntsville Public Library.
