        Note: James P. Graham fought in the Revolutionary War, enlisting in Carlisle, Cumberland County, PA, in January or February 1777. He served as a Private in the Ninth Pennsylvania Regiment and was discharged in November or December 1779. He applied for an received a pension for this when he was 71 years old. Abt. 1728 as the father of James P. Graham b. Abt. 1756 James Graham b. Abt. 1728 d. 1778 in New Holland, PA Note: He died from woulds he received in the Revolutionary War. His Will can be found in Vol. 1, p. 89, Will Book of Meigs County Court house, Pomeroy, OH. He has been established as a DAR Revolutionary ancestor.

        The pension application approved by the Common Pleas Court of Meigs Co. Ohio December 23, 1826 reports: In the month of January or February 1777, James Graham enlisted in the town of Carlisle in Cumberland Pennsylvania for the term of three years in the company commanded by Captain Joseph Erwin in the ninth Pennsylvania Regiment commanded by Colonel Richard Butler in General Anthony Wayne's Brigade; that he continued to serve in the same corps until he was discharged by a board of surgeons at Bondbrook hospital in the month of November or December 1779. The Revolutionary War Pay roll shows him as a sergeant in ERwin's Co. of the 9th PA Regiment, commanded by various commanders at different times, inlcuding Col Richard Butler, Lt. Col George Nagel, Col. Anthony James Morris
