God Has Done His Best
by James Ebb. Huggins, Jr.

Did you ever want to get away, rid yourself of political spin,
Slow the pace of current events, let the Angel of Truth and Justice step in,
Shut down TV's blasting, of half truths and blatant lies,
Move forward with positive objectives, praying that hate soon dies?

A case in point just happened, i.e. the Presidential selection pursuit.
For all the ugly name calling, has left each side's integrity in dispute.
Who should be our next leader, which one would do the best job,
Which would lead our country away from sin, our souls not there to rob?

I have come upon one solution, of course it may not be valid for all,
But it has to do with God's creation, and it happens in the fall.
It is called getting back to nature, out among the things He has made
And I found it today at the Tyler State Park, with a glory of beauty on parade.

The leaves were golden with color, the tree trunks a sculptor's delight.
The hills clearly visible for all to see, with many trails and streams in sight.
The air was fresh with the fragrance, of a land that had earned a rest,
And "for a while all was right with the world", surely God has done His best.
