The Wicker Basket
by James Ebb Huggins, Jr.
Now that your graduation day is through, here are some things that
you
can do
To help you "make it" while away at school, and insure happiness will
always rule
In your life and the lives you hold dear, as a tool that will alleviate
every fear
Of washing clothes, and not having to ask it, i.e. "Why did you give
me this wicker basket"?
It was given because the basket is a tool of choice, for those going
away to school,
After graduation day has gone by, and living away from Mom is the rule.
It can be used as a stool, chair, or table; for improvised projects
of every kind,
But it's best used as a dirty clothes container, to keep things until
washing is on your mind.
Yes, washing your clothes is something you must do, if you want to
stay
nice and clean.
It's a chore your Mom always did, while you were involved with the
high school scene.
The clothes you wore did not wash themselves, they were done with your
Mom's tender care,
So let this wicker basket be a reminder to your, of the love your Mom
does share.
Washing Clothes 101
by James Ebb Huggins, Jr.
Now that you have your wicker basket, it's time for college course
"Washing
Clothes 101"
So you will know just what to do, when Mom's not around for the washing
fun.
So remember each rule provided here, and all your days will be bright.
And your Mom will be proud, as she always is, knowing you clothes are
done just right
The first thing you should do before you start, is sort clothes by
material
and color.
If you don't, you might have some real snug fits, and clothes with
a color not like the other.
The second thing is to add a laundry detergent, not too much, just
the right amount.
This will insure the washer will not overflow, plus your odor will
not be held to account.
The third thing is to add a fabric softener to your wash, to help your
clothes stay fresh and bright.
For without it they will not feel or look good, in fact they will just
not wear right.
The fourth thing is to set the right settings: color, white, cold,
medium or hot.
And remember to pull out the start knob, or the machine will just not
run right.
Fifth is to start in plenty of time, to do your wash without having
to run,
To have time to take care of other things, so your schedule will not
be under the gun.
Now that you've completed Washing Clothes 101, with no more chores
to mess up your fun,
You will have time to hang out with your friends -- after your
homework is done!
