The De Soto O
Meet
went quiet well - with lots of good running to recall
And perhaps a little to much for some - but good lessons were
there
for all.
One incident that is hard to forget occurred while I was putting
start
to rest,
When out of the woods stumbled this large girl - who had
obviously done
her best.
She looked at me
beneath a sweaty brow as I offered her water and a
place to sit
When out of her mouth came these words to live by - "Where do I
go to
quit"?
I was a little taken by the comment she made and ready to
positively
urge her on,
But noted that she needed to stop - and follow the instructions
as
shown.
After telling
her
where the finish was and checking to see if she was
all right,
I started thinking about what she had said and how she handled
her
plight.
Some would have just walked away - without telling anyone they
were
through,
But not this girl, she was going to do it right - just as she
had been
instructed to do.
The lesson
imparted on this young girl, will be useful when she runs
another day,
For she now
knows
how far she can go, and will follow instructions
all the way.
It's not
important
whether she won or lost, but how she used God's
tools,
Of knowing
what
her limitations are, and the importance of following
life's rules.
