Skep/ Woodrat House Solar Calendar 2006 John Hylton
Recently I have been making daub and wattle huts that have been solar calendars. A person can sit inside the hut and look through a series of oculi, that are aligned to the arc of the sun on the equinox or the solstice, etc. A place for people to go and contemplate the workings of the cosmos. This is a large waddle and daub hut with a shape inspired by the wood rat's house or a skep from a beekeeper's apiary.
