God
is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm

DOWN ON THE FARM 2008
It
has been a rough year for many of us, economically, agriculturally,
and personally. This has been a year of uncertainty. As we enter the
fall season, things are starting to look up. Fuel prices are going
down, which might allow us to breath a little easier and do some of
those fun things that have been stressing us the last few month (like
visit the farm). Due to the drought and extreme temperatures this
summer, we were not able to grow any pumpkins on the farm this year,
but our pumpkin providers have had a bumper crop so we will have lots
to choose from (great variety as usual).
NEW CHRISTMAS COTTAGE
Most
of you probably visited or at least saw our “new”
Christmas Cottage last year. This year we have continued working on
the 75 year old house we brought in from Austin in 2006 and hope to
have the remodel totally complete by the time you come. Our goal
this year is to provide you with a large variety of interesting gifts
and decorations at a price that you can afford to buy more than one
if you like. As always, we appreciate you driving out to see us and
want to make it worth your while by providing items in the shop that
you can’t find other places for the best price ever. We also
have the Barn Store for the kids to shop (most items priced between
$1 to $5).
PUMPKIN SEASON
We
are expecting to have lots of fun again in October this year. We
feel we offer the most enjoyment a family can have for the lowest
cost. You can visit us any day after the 3rd
of October for farm activities and pumpkins (see website for costs
and open times). Of course we will have the 7th
annual Pumpkin Festival, Oct. 11 & 12 and 18 & 19. The
festival offers tons of fun with live music, farm activities,
hayrides, pony rides and a bunch of other fun stuff (see website for
coupon).
CHRISTMAS TREES
It
has been a trying year for farmer Marc with the lack of rain, extreme
temperatures, and other agricultural issues he’s had to deal
with. Through it all the trees have come through beautiful and
healthy and ready for a good home (thanks be to God). We have a good
selection of large trees (9 – 12 ft) again this year. As
always, we have thousands of trees to choose from. See our website
for open times and prices.
