Support
Structures for Students that Parents should be aware of:
1.
All
students are required to correct
their most recent test before or after school.
Students can use their book to correct tests and receive ˝ credit for
each point they correct. For example, if
a student missed 60 pts and makes a 40 on a test, he/she can bring it up to a
70. Therefore, a student should almost
never fail a test if he/she will put the time and effort into correcting
it.
2.
Grade
posting. Updated student grades will be
given to the students each week so that your child may chart his/her progress
in the class and take action before it is too late. Again, ask your child what he/she is making
in the class, or, if you have signed the waiver sheet, you may check your
child’s grade, absences and behavior on the internet by going to http://pages.suddenlink.net/jwillis
3.
Parent
visitation. I would to invite all
parents to find time in your schedules that would be convenient for you to come
in and sit in on the class.
4.
E-mail. If you have any concerns, please e-mail me at
jason.willis@craven.k12.nc.us
Miscellaneous
Information:
1. Late
work is unacceptable. If a student is
absent, he/she will have 5 school days to turn it in.
2. If a
student is absent on a test day, he/she will not receive any extra points, such
as points from a bonus question or review games and may be subject to a
different form of the test.
3. Each
student receives 6 hall passes each 9-weeks.
Each pass not used is worth ˝ of a point, which gets added to their
9-weeks grade.
